Education

I have a BA in History with a minor in Classics from Gordon College. (Career GPA: 3.32. Major GPA: 3.76.) I am currently attending UNH part-time and applying to Master's programs in Ancient History and Classics.

Experience

I participated in a Peer Mentoring program while at Gordon, in which I was paired with a freshman international student. I helped with his transition into American culture, offered advice on academics, and gave him some assistance with studying. I want to be a tutor because I think I have some natural ability as a teacher, and because I think tutoring will be good experience for being a professor, which is what I want to do in the long run. I have taken classes on ancient Greco-Roman, Egyptian and Near Eastern history, as well as on American history and early European history (Late Antiquity, Medieval, Renaissance). In addition I have taken several classes on American and World Literature and have also studied German, Latin and Greek. I traveled to Greece as part of an international seminar through Gordon College and spent three weeks visiting and studying archaeological sites throughout the country.
